AGS strengthens its position in the Italian construction scene by continuing its growth through external lines
AGS has completed the acquisition of Pessina Costruzioni, a historic Milanese company strongly linked to the country's building development. With this operation, the Padrin entrepreneurs assume full governance of the Pessina group and consolidate their position as a national player, maintaining the focus on design, innovation and sustainability in civil and industrial construction as a strategic objective.
“A few years ago we started a plan to verticalise our offering by setting up the AGS Real Estate. The acquisition of Pessina has brought us know-how and expertise in the design and construction of complex buildings with social purposes.
Now AGS has a team of experts in urban planning, design and energy and construction redevelopment as well as in the management and conservation of civil buildings. The AGS Real Estate team has all the support of our innovative materials research center and the AGS Software House for the development of eco-sustainable and intelligent solutions for construction.
The Prodi plan, supported by the EU commission, proposes an extraordinary plan to be implemented in 15 years at an estimated cost of 150-200 billion for social infrastructures: health, education, social housing. With the new set-up, after the successes achieved so far, we are now ready for a new phase of growth, strengthened by a complete commercial offer of services for both the public and private sectors",commented Stefano Padrin, CEO of AGS.
This operation allows AGS to present itself not only as a general contractorfor the development of energy efficiency and building redevelopment solutions but also as an Engineering & Building construction company, capable of managing the entire engineering process, from the design of the works to the construction, testing, maintenance and management of services with twenty-year long-term contracts.
After a fruitful synergistic activity with Pessina, framed as a commercial partnership, the acquisition was a natural step that made it possible to share and develop infrastructure, expertise and technologies together.
In short, in addition to the traditional energy efficiency works, the portfolio of services is enriched by all the interventions for the construction of complex buildings for Health Care and Well Living.
Founded by Carlo Pessina in 1954, Pessina Costruzioni has had a rapid expansion in the national territory. It has always embraced a sustainable approach to construction, aware that buildings are responsible for over 40% of harmful emissions into the atmosphere. Over the years, in order to combat climate change, Pessina has been committed to building homes, schools and offices that are truly built to live and work better, in harmony with the earth, limiting emissions.
As proof of a real commitment to the environment, all of Pessina's construction activities are carried out in compliance with the international standards of ISO 14001:2004 certification, which recognizes the ability to implement an effective and efficient Environmental Management System.
Pessina's most successful projects include the new hospital in Vimercate, designed by Mario Botta, the innovative Reale Mutua headquartersin Turin and the J-village, the imposing Juventus headquarters that houses offices, open space spaces and meeting rooms in 4.400 square meters of gross surface.
